Tropea stands on an imposing standstone cliff, in
a charming position between the Gulf of Sant’Eufemia and Gioia Tauro, and is
one of the most artistically interesting and picturesque centres in the Vibo
Valentia province.
The area stills holds traces of ancient prehistoric settlements, alongside
buildings and burial passages dating back to Greek and Roman times.
Nowadays Tropea is an exclusive seaside resort that also
boasts a modern tourist and fishing harbour. The town also has one of the
prettiest and best-preserved historic centres in the region.
Calabria is a recent discovered
region for international tourism, and there are
direct flights
from London Stansead to Lamezia Terme (SUF), just 40 km north
of Tropea.
